1999 Kona Stab Dee Lux

My 1999 Kona Stab Dee Lux completed after sourcing parts over the last 6-9 months. The Marzocchi Monster T forks weigh as much as the frame but rides amazingly well for such an old DHer

Got the forks on ebay but luckily the seller had it under as motorcycle forks category (well they weigh as much a motocross pair) so alot of people missed sporting it. Here's a comparison pic of the size of the Monsters to a pair of 2002 Marzocchi Super T forks. Massive.

Yeah I know it's not the period forks but they are rare as hen's teeth especially a pair in good working order. The frame was got from a bloke on Ebay but no one actually put a bid in!!! I contacted him a month later and he still had it and we did the deal!!! I think I was lucky as the pics he put on the net was abit crap and the frame looked scruffy but was hardly used.

Thanks it must be the rasta inspired paint job and stickers. Great fun to ride. Meet the rest of the family members, Stab Dee Lux (99), Kilaeua (94), Stuff (02) and Stinky (01).

"Upgraded" my Stab Dee Lux with more period gear. A Raceface Turbine 5 bolt cranks, 42t Blackspire DH chainring, MRP World Cup 2 chainguide, XTR 952 rear derailleur with a lot more smoother gear changes and easier set up than the recent newer XT one and Tioga Factory DH tyres both ends.
Still riding solid and didn't even clean off the mud off yet after my last ride.
