What a luck : I have found last year this Merlin Fat ti bike. It's the first series (1999) and what is so nice for me : it's my size : a very very small size (13,5").
Even C'dale didn't built frame in this size.
So, very strange bike but what a pleasure for riding it !

(PS: The first no retrobike I owned !)

Very cool!!!!!!
I must get it someday.
Couple days ago was one on ebay. Big size though.

Otherwise please dont feel guilty! Its nineties, Its very retro! :D
I love this site so much but the thing that
titanium hardtail(very retro) with 7cm fork(very retro) without traces of disc tabs(very retro) is required here to be considered MODERN or NON RETRO almost equals psychological abuse. (not literally, im joking of course, but you get the point)

what is a retrobike, is very subjective
All my bikes are around 88 to 92, with only rigid forks.

I bought this Merlin for 3 reasons :
First, I can use this bike for more serious riding where suspensions are needed,
Secondly : this bike is quite rare in this size. When I saw it on ebay, I know that the auction was for me !
Thirdly : I loved Merlin (until 94-95), I loved C'dale (until 92). So I loved the mixed

Now i understand why it has been such a huge step for you
I mean,If you still feel bit funny about it, you can still take a step back!
Maybe i WOULD be willing to buy it from you
I know it will be much safer for you to start sloooowly with something ..lets say around 94 before jumping to crazy modern stuff as you prematurely did here!
My girlfriend just now needs something new( she loves very modern bikes!)
so i can relive you

Even, not in your dream !

You see, it's not an oldschool bike for me, but I didn't say that I don't love it ;)
On contrary : I ride it all this week-end. :D
