i have just purchased a mountain bike and the alloy seat post is seized in the frame. does anyone know how i can unseize it?

There are loads of Heath Robinson type methods if you do a search here mate.

From my recent experience I soaked the tube in "shock and unlock" from Halfords, molegrips, and a hammer!

The post was goosed once finished but that seems to be true in most cases.
