Hello.

I like the sound of this forum with a love of all things old school. I’ve still got a Rockhopper A1 FS Comp that I bought new (back in 1998 I think!). Plus my commuter is a custom fix built from an old Gotti frame.

I’ve just purchased this FSR frame but I’m not really sure what model it is.

The guy I bought it off said it was a "Specialized FSR Elite PRO frame (this is a very rare frame only a few of these made for the Specialized Team)" Is it a max backbone one? I’ve been researching the different varieties and this is the closest match I could find:

Need to give it a proper check over and post some better photos but I’ve seen its got Goldtec chain wheel and rear disc mount. Any ideas what model it is? Also keen to hear recommendations of suitable pats, eg. forks, wheels, etc. to build it up with.

hi! welcome!

im far from an expert on these frames but it looks similar to the one in the link (not the orginal post but a link further down), i think the max backbone is just the different rear end and the front ends are the same :?
might help you out

looks good though, i wouldnt mind owning one of them :D

What parts? Not sure. Trying to find out more about the frame to see what parts would suit. Any recommendations on forks and wheels?

looks like someone's run too big a tyre and worn a hole right through the chainstay! Also cracked in two places. Not sure where to get a replacement... I've emailed Specialized bt no response yet.

I spent a lot of money with BETD when I had an FSR. Changed all the bushes to needle rollers that they did and they also did replacement box chainstays, that I had. Maybe worth a phonecall to them?
