To get the ball rolling, here's a quick introduction to my 1999(?) Coyote DH.

Purchased brand new back in 1999 from Super Cycles in Nottingham, it's been a stalwart of the fleet ever since. Although it's spent most of it's life in Norfolk, it's been to Wales and the Lake District over the years amongst other places.

The build has gradually evolved over time, rather than ever being stripped and rebuilt like some bikes. Just had an overhaul after not being used for several years after the brakes packed up. These photos show the bike as it was in 2011.

Another slightly older photo has surfaced, from 2008 in Wales.

Spec almost identical, save for a Tioga DH saddle and Zoom stem. Appears to have XT M739 quick release skewers and a modified seat clamp, bolt removed and a QR screwed in.

Edit: Also spotted the Tioga Factory DH 2.3 front tyre, replaced by the IRC Tamayashi DH 'Pro Spec' in the newer photo.
My professional wheelbuilder had also managed to get both rims on a different way around.

And to bring things up to date, here's how she looked mid September, before some of the parts collected during lockdown began to be fitted.
At this point, mainly due to brake issues, the bike had been sidelined for 4/5 years and not ridden.
There've been a few upgrades over that time, replacement of Halo Combat rims with a set of EX729s, the basic Ofmega cranks swapped for some XT M750s, back tyre exchanged for a Factory DH 2.3
There's also 4 years of dust plus dirt from the last time it was ridden.

I had a pair of those Jr T's, still like them the most of any fork I've ever had. Not the best ones I ever had mind, just the ones I liked the most.
 
So the bike has suffered badly from unreliable brakes over the past 3/4 years. They'd frequently pump up and lock solid if the bike wasn't ridden for a while. They'd need a bleed every time I took it out. For the price of a service kit, fluid and 8x new pads, I instead ordered a set of new Shimano brakes. Concerned that the new brakes may feel down on power compared to the DH4, I also managed to get a set of larger 203mm rotors, for the front and back.

A trial fit revealed another issue. Big Un's, Bombers and Shimano IS to Post Mount adapters don't play well together. The rotor bolt heads hit the Shimano adapter. Swapping out my original Hope rotor bolts for mushroom head torx doesn't help enough to clear it either.
The solution I found was to use a Hope IS to Post Mount adapter in place of the Shimano one, this offers just enough clearance for the bolt heads. Mount 'B' fitted here, but I also needed an additional 1mm washer in between the caliper and IS/Post adapter to prevent the rotor catching the inside of the caliper.

At the back, checking clearances. The Shimano IS/PM adapter can be used here as there is sufficient clearance with the Coyote DH frame and Big Un combination. However I wanted the mounts to match, testing a Hope 'B' mount that is far too small to mount the caliper but otherwise lines up and looks ok.

As a footnote, I've since learned that Hope will countersink your rotors and provide flush mounting bolts if you run into similar clearance issues with the 5 bolt rotors and fork/frame/adapter issues.
