I mange to get my hands on this about 18 months ago and haven't done anything with it since but source a 5th element shock in the correct size, people say to keep it as it was but this was a spare frame from the 2005 season Steve never rode apparently, sadly the guy who bought it built it up and used and abused it.

I wanted to completely strip in and send it back to orange for new powder coat and bearings but not sure if its worth ruining the decals for it ?

Another nice find.

Have you thought about contacting Orange to see if they have any spare decal sheets stashed away? alternative for me would be to touch up the frame as much as you can as is, you could always try to get repos made but they will always be just that.

Re:

Mega find!! Ive have the same conundrum with a palmer specialized FSR. The decals guy up north is far too busy to reproduce decals and been advised to leave it as is but build back up to original spec. I think these frames deserve at least that eh?!

So I almost gave up on this build but turns out the guy. who I sold my Orange 223 to about 2 years ago came to the party as he needed money to buy a new bike and I bought my old back back a little more beat up but for $500AUD I can't complain.

every part on the bike its pretty much exactly what Steve had on his bike at the time so its a perfect donor.

So I have been searching for a few things I need to finish the bike so if anyone has any leads as even the wanted section on this forum can't seem to help.

Velo Pronto S1 Saddle

This is fab, I love seeing ex team bikes living on. I have one of Mario Cipollini’s team bikes from 2005 - just never sure whether it should be ridden or left on the wall.

Little update, I have been looking for a Velo ProntoSL.S1 seat for years as this is the exact same seat as Steve Peat used on this bike but it was very weird as it was never DH specific or used by anyone buy him Im pretty sure in the DH scene.

But with constant weekly searches for years and I do mean years! I finally found one in Slovenia of all places and with a little help from someone in germany who know someone in that country I know have the unicorn seat I was looking for!
