Kona Pahoehoe 2000

Doktakwa

Retro Newbie
Got this second hand, a bit messed up, with most original parts including avid arch rival brakes; required a 7-8 hr round trip in December 2018.

Paintwork and decals near perfect though once dust n grime removed.
Slowly replaced most original parts.

Not sure if interloc seatpost and stem were original but the seatpost had a hairline crack so that was swapped out - shame as it was very neat.

Re:

That looks pretty nice! Some road trip to pick it up though
The interloc stuff may well have been original, I know the ''99 Kula I had came with an Interloc seat post as standard.

Re:

Sure was a drive and a half. Afternoon departure, failing light over the rural Cotswold roads and Google maps dying on me. Got home after 10pm. Courier wasn't an option but I had kept my eye on it for months. I think I paid £120.

Re:

Yep, the decals do still glow in the dark. I have a 2000 Cindercone too and it's decals also glow. Managed to get 4X headbadge decals only this week that still glow.
Frame is 19" too.

It is really nimble off road and with suitable tyres quite quick on the road too. No lockout on the fork though.
Have swapped brakes to hydraulic xt 775's and the wheels are currently mavic ex729's on XT 756 hubs. Got the rims on sale from CRC for £15 each. Dream purchase.
When the rain eases off I will try and get a more up to date photo.

Looks great. How are the Rapid Robs? I have a 2000 Kula and want to try the new Nobby Nic 2.35 (skinwall  ) but It looks like it'll be a tight fit. Could get Rocket Rons in 2.25 but the new Nic's look super grippy with the beefier side knobs.
