Kona Lava Dome 1998

I bought a 1998 Kona Lava Dome frame last week, and used a 1999 Scott Racing Comp as a donor for parts since they almost use the same parts :)

Just need a chain, adapter for the front derailleur and some new wiring before I can hit the road.

Re:

I’ve hadn’t a couple of these 98 Lava Domes and you know what? I’d get another no question. They seem to be really nice riding bikes.
So you said “hit the road”, are you using it to commute on? I found them quite nippy on the tarmac :)
Good shout on the donor bike too , should have everything you need.

Thanks guys!
No commuting here ...yet ;)

It's been many many years since I last repaired/put together a bike. So I bough this frame to see if I still could do it. My hands was still magic
I've put together three Kona's the last two weeks

I actually have two '99 Scott Racing Comp which I was planning to strip down and just give away the frames, but with second thought... maybe I should at least make one rideable.

The Lava Dome is an 18" with mostly the original specs;
Mavic X138 rims
Avid 1.0 brakes/levers
LX-/XT- front-/rare derailleurs
LX shifters
FSA headset
and so on

The Saddle is from another Scott, IIRC. Was something I found in my storage.
And I've ordered Lizard Skins grips and Maxxis tyres
