** Black Sheep High Roller Titanium 29er **

Re:

Blimey! I was thinking a pair of Rust Components bars would be ticketyboo but that is a fine choice. Blingiest build I've seen for a long time.

Just needs those Cane Creek cranks....

Re:

The new parts work really well, toughens it up a little I think.

It could be lighter, there's weight to save on wheels, tyres and rotors, but it's a robust build, and I like the modulation of the larger discs, so for now it fits the bill.

£7 for a set of matte ud carbon spacers that tie in with the stem

v

£45 for a set of matte slate spacers that tie in with the headset

when I only need a single 3mm spacer ;)

Re:

Sold the big 203mm front disc and matched the rear with a 180mm.

The front brake hasn't felt right since I fitted it though, much stiffer lever feel than the rear, and very sluggish response.

I cut the hose to shorten it when I fitted it and used a new olive and barb, but kept thinking maybe I'd done something wrong....

I sat and bled the brake properly, let it gravity bleed.... any way you could think of I tried, but just could not get it to feel right.

Obviously I've been out on it, and the brakes stopped me ok, i just gave the lever a first quick pull to set the pads then hauled on it to pull me up! Not ideal, but it worked!

Anyway, after googling XTR Trail brake issues, I found a wee thread where someone mentioned they'd discovered the olive wasn't sitting correctly in the lever housing, that he'd undone it, wiggled it around, re-tightened it and fixed it!

So, I've just done the same, and as if by magic, I now have a fully functioning front brake! And what a difference, all the modulation you could wish for combined with fork-bending power!

The power of the internet comes to the rescue!
