Danson gearbox...now with added weirdness.

Re: No, it's a gearbox NOT a bloody motor...

Brilliant! looks like a lot of fun to ride, with not a lot that can go wrong

Re: No, it's a gearbox NOT a bloody motor...

Thanks for all the positive comments.

I am looking to make a Mk2 with a longer top tube and a slacker head tube...more modern geometry style. Also with a splitter in the seatstay so I can try a belt drive.

The Pinion rear hub has been swapped out for the silent Onyx hub, which is a huge improvement.
previously, I found myself avoiding freewheeling so that I could roll quietly.

Similarly, My P1:18 produced a Sturmey-like clicking noise in gears #6 and #12, which I had not seen mentioned in any of the manuals or reviews. I was tending to avoid or skip over those gears.
I contacted Pinion services...Apparently my gearbox was a very early one, and they have since changed the gear changing mechanism...duly sent back to Pinion and they have replaced the entire inner works with the new gearbox internals. 6 day turnaround, no charge :D

All the best,
