a to z brake adapter and gt specific one

a to z rear brake adapter, been slightly mod` to allow larger hub but otherwise like new. betd GT specific adapter that requires 2 holes drilling in the dropout, a bit of work but a much better set up when done. again been filed down to suit my geometry but very usable and as new otherwise. £10 each inc` of post. cheers

Thanks for the reply. I saw other old For Sale threads edited to say SOLD in the title. As yours wasn't, thought I'd double check.

I just bought the BETD GT Self Fit adapter. Only discovered it today after days of looking at various options, including bonding a modified Shimano 160 to 203 IS adapter. It would have been strong enough using Loctite (previously Bondmaster) E32 or Loctite 9466 structural epoxy, but the BETD solution looks simpler and elegantly tough.

I'm replacing the current No-Brand Stainless disc adapter on my 98 Zaskar:

Yep, looks nice, and sure is strong enough, but due to the lack of any offset, it's slightly too thick for where it's intended to sit, between dropout and wheel - On the IS standard, the inner face of the brake mount is meant to be aligned to he inner face of the dropout.

Also, the screwed on tab at the front is not adjustable to sit flat on the top of the dropout and so it's been fretting the frame . Fortunately the bike's not been used much (I just bought it) so not much damage has been done. Had it been used in wet, gritty conditions, the dopout would have been well chewed by now.

I re-learnt all about fretting with the new crud (road bike) racer mud guards. They're great but unless you protect the frame, road vibration WILL damage the frame metal in wet & gritty conditions.

Gotcha. . . bummer... got a '97 Zaskar frame that's getting a disc on the back.

It was really hard to find any photos of the BETD one in action - anywhere on the net - adlyhobart's is the best pic I've found so far.

I'll put some photos up in a fresh thread, (and link from here) after I've fitted my Zaskar with the BETD adapter. It might be up to two weeks away if you can wait - still deciding on wheels.

But as the guy at BETD said, best to get all your intended components together (Rotor/Caliper/Adapter) before drilling.
