Hi all. For sale I have a Scott Octane FX3 full suspension bike from around 1996/7?
It seems to have most of the original parts so comes with a mix of Shimano STX, STX RC, RST 380r forks and Scott branded finishing kit. The wheels are Mavic X138 rims on STX (rear) and Formula (front). It is 18.5" c to t and has 24 gears.
Condition is well used but also restorable. It has no cracks or dents, just some paint loss and scratches. I have given it a quick clean and brief service so the gears and brakes work.
Good Points:
Sound frame, gears and brakes.
Headset, hubs and bottom bracket run smoothly and do not need replacing.
Suspension front and rear moves as well as I'd expect old suss to do.
Bad Points:
The wheels are not straight so will require trueing.
The chain needs replacing (I may have a spare I will chuck in).
The cables work but if I were keeping I would replace.
The rear tyre is about done.
Also included in the sale is a second frame. It's only really any use as spares as the swing arm has a crack but comes with front V's, rear Deore mech, STX RC shifter and some brake levers.
That's about it really. I'm after around £40 collected or £50 posted for the lot.
