Here is a spider lockring install/removal tool for Specialized S-Works and Hollowgram Cannondale cranksets. This tool is required to remove or install the lockring that keeps the spider securely fastened to the drive-side crankarm.

Ian, the tool you linked can be used to remove/install the lock ring on XTR m95x spyder and similar:
