I was looking at this as just pulled one off my DEAN project (and had to cut up off drive side to get off but not before checking values :D )

Deore DX discontinued in mid 90s and effectively replaced by Deore LX which sat below Deore XT in range. M569 I think was 1998 ish. Sure if this is wrong someone can correct me, but it's where my research got to.
