Tomac Design, Merlin-Mongoose IBOC-Signature Titanium Frame
I was told when I bought this frame that it had been built as a race/prototype frame for John Tomac, it is very similar to the production IBOC-Signature frame which was sold by Mongoose in 1990.
The main tubes are MTS-3Al/2.5V Titanium, welded by Merlin Metalworks at their facility in Massachusetts.
The wish-bone seat stays and dropouts are made of 4130 cromoly and bonded to the main triangle - I believe these were welded by Fat City Cycles, the drive side dropout has a fillet brazed repair.
A 108mm 6Al/4V Titanium BB axle is installed through brand new SKF bearings, this is not a standard BB shell, it uses press fitted bearings, so you?ll probably want to use cranks which are compatible with this square-taper axle.
Comes complete with:
o Blue anodized Ringle Moby post.
o Smooth running Dia-Compe Kontak-DL headset.
o A very light CNC?d aluminum seat post collar.
