Still a little confused

Today's DK geometry for an 18.5" seat-tube centre to top is 23.25"

Mine is 22.25" centre to centre actual...is your top tube a little shorter?

yes must be actual vs. effective.. mine also has a 22" (560mm) tub tube c-c along head tube.. even if frames have grown longer the latest decade an inch seems much
