from memory, the regular Hi-Lite is a steel bead, the HOT is a kevlar folding bead

They did a load of Hi-Lites; standard, Hot, Comp, Super Comp, Pro etc. I believe only the Hi-Lite Hot was an MTB tyre with the rest being 700c
