1991 Koga Miyata Terra Runner Carbolite

Retro Newbie
Hi Folks, I am new here and would like to ask your advice; I have a classic Koga Miyata which I think is from 1991 and is in pretty much mint condition. As far as I'm aware it has only been used a few times on the road and then just got parked in the basement (don't ask me why :) What would this be worth roughly, or if anyone is interested, what would you be willing to offer? It would need to ship from Holland or Germany...

Asking price 300 Euro

I can email high-res pics if needed!

Best regards,
Jeroen

Re:

Wow, that's a great bike; a perfect example of a Koga-Miyata of the pre-1996 era. As you probably know the frames were Japanese and came in different variations. The carbon frames were lugged and had steel (this one), aluminium, carbon or titanium rear triangles, and were combined with steel (this one) or aluminium forks. And later with suspension forks.

In The Netherlands there are enough people that are tall enough to fit this. I suppose it's a 22 inch? So 6'5" would be the right length I think.

To get the right price for a Koga of this age you need someone that knows these bikes from bitd and appreciates it's original and very good condition.
It's not the top Shimano XT Skyrunner Carbolite with the Syncros seatpost/stem/handlebar combination. Therefore the price will be a bit lower. I think you could sell this for 275 euro. But you need a tall guy and patience.

Posting a 22 inch frame is not ideal by the way.

To me this looks like a 20 inch model. I have two in original spec in the same shape. I got them for considerable less, but I think Remko's estimate is pretty accurate for a sale through a Dutch classified site. Of course it is worth way more ;-)

Btw if you would like to advertise overhere you will have to stick a price to it.

Re:

Thanks Elev12k Of course I was also thinking it's worth WAY more than that :D I will measure the frame today, just to be sure. I can always decide to sell my modern Specialized fully and keep this one for myself!

Re:

Lovely example  GLWS

I'd be interested in it to join my HAIRBALL TECHNO MANIA Replica if I had the space..! ➡️ viewtopic.php?f=6&t=357226

FYI I paid £350 for my Carbolite..

Absolutely spot on, checked yesterday; 50cm (dutchy) so 20 inch model!
