I have not contacted him yet. I can't prove that the crack was there a month ago since I only noticed it yesterday, but it seems highly likley that the crack was there all along, especially as it has been packed in a box most of the time since! yesterday was only the second time it came out, last time so i could slide some forks and wheels in to try for standover height. Then straight back in the box.
I paid as paypal goods so there should be recourse that way if needed, hopefully it won't come to that.
And yeah the other parts soften the blow a little but wont cover the outlay.

Frame has gone for repair so withdrawn from sale at this time. Hopefully back soon though!

Right then....
Frame is back from the repair shop, so is now available for sale.
This frame is too big for me which is a real shame because aside from the repair welds on the seat tube it is in really tidy condition. I would suggest a rub down with a pad might not go amiss but not essential.
