The earlier ones were the a strange design that wouldn't look out of place on the set of Space 1999. But they were mechanically very tough. We put 100000 miles on ours in four years and our neighbour still uses it daily.
These, even though slightly more acceptable looking, are just awful. I really wish I hadn't bought it but it was cheap at the time and suited the other half's business needs.
It's replacement does better mpg and I can sling a bike in it lengthways without adjusting any seats.
