What phone do you use? I ask because you could use tethering instead of a dongle.
I previously used GiffGaff. I found that the 3G signal was pretty weak and the connection would always die. Switched back to Three on there £15 All you can eat data PAYG. Not only do I get good speeds, so long as you stick to under 80 GB's a month of data I've had no problems Tethering.

HF...my phone contract is with o2 for another year, but it only gives 1G of data. I have a 3 Gig giffgaff sim for my netbook at home as I no longer have any internet. I have tried to unlock the dongle I had but without success

I think you need to buy a Goody bag for use in Dongles. Also, you may have to put GiffGagg's APN settings into the Dongle.

Meh...not sorted. I think TGR has gone on holiday. I am unable to unlock my dongle, just using my phone to tether but means I need to change sims from phones all the time which is a pain
I will just get a 2nd hand dongle
