Got a few of the dev kits sitting at work, gamecube ones too, think you need an sgi workstation to run them off.

Developer kits?
What do they involve?

I dont know what an sgi workstation is so chances are i dont have one!

I always wondered how you would get it onto a cartridge though? Probably very simple.

The cartridges you buy are manufactured but the dev ones were just flash cards, some were hard wired to the pc for earlier development, the amount of now redundant and useless equipment games companies build up is attrocious, things are much better now with Xbox and ps3

No, we still have dev kits but they cost under a grand now instead of 5-10k
