anyone got a good beginners four wheel drive truck/buggy remote control thingy they would sell for peanuts or a nicer one to swap for bikes/bits?

i am an absolubt novice in these things but a mate has just bought a rock crawler and its soooooooooo much fun, but ba bit advanced for me i feel.

happy to fix (or get a mate to fix) any little niggles, and not adverse to a bit of painting.

so anything about?
 
I take it you want a rock crawler type truck and not just a fast but fun monster truck - I don't have either :)
 
yes I did look at nitro but for my 12 year old son I wanted something I would be happy with him doing on his own. I used to race an 1/8 scale mugen years back - I really regretted having to sell that when I was skint at one point.
 
problem with the nitro stuff is i have a sever lack of patience for stuff that doesn't work and i dont know why. electric just seems a lot more user friendly, plus i'll probably only use it sporadically and heard nitro prefer to be used regularly.
