Have found this Sony HMK20 record deck whilst continuing to clear out the attic, that's my 2020 resto project sorted :)

My other half has a tonne of cassettes in storage and I would like to get him a good tape deck. Obviously I know that cassettes have been out of favour (flavour?) for quite some time, and personally I'm deaf so am in wayyyyyy over my head with looking into anything like this.

Are any of you audiophiles able to recommend any good tape decks that I can go and have a look for? The deck will be connected into a Marantz PM6006 amplifier.

Thank you.

Teac make very nice tape decks. I sold mine :( . Was buying and reselling tape decks a few years ago, some were very obscure high end stuff. Teac stood out for some reason. Think it was the v-3000.

They had some lovely offerings. Aiwa were also a bit of a specialist in cassette decks too.

I do also have a couple of Marantz Superscope portables and a pro use Marantz CP230

Nice, haven't tried the high end stuff from them, the AIWA ad-f770 looks retrotastic
