Retrobike Rider
We at the virtual Retrobike Towers spend all our waking seconds thinking up ideas to inspire you to take part and express your passion for all things ever-so-slightly dated in the world of cycling…. Now we have come up with the Retrobike Photo of the Month Competition - pure genius, I think you'll agree!!!
I am sure you already have the idea but for those that like a bit of small print – here’s the T’s and C’s:
At the start of each month we at Retrobike will nominate a theme designed to inspire a wide range of photographic submissions - to be related (however tenuously!) to that theme and also to that of 'retrobiking' in all its forms.
For example: The theme for April might have been 'Spring is in the air' - which might solicit images of titanium springs; one handed wheelies whilst eating a creme egg; playboy bunnies on bicycles; picturesque bikes amongst daffs etc. The idea is to let your imagination run riot!
Photos can be newly taken for the theme or be old scanned photos - BUT they must either have been taken by the retrobike member OR feature the retrobike member in question. No general scans from magazines, no freebie downloads from the web etc. There are no bonus points for using old school pin hole cameras over digital or camera phone – and quality will not take precedence over the spirit of the image!
All salacious, overly-risque, intentionally sexist, racist and offensive images will be removed without debate by the moderators. Remember - it's only for fun!!!
Each retrobike member can only submit one image for the month nominated and that image must appear on the site in the thread provided before the advertised closing date.
There will then be a short seven day period at the end of that month/overlapping into the next, for the members to view the gallery in full and vote for the winner of the month in the prepared poll – this method means you cannot vote for the POTM until all the submissions are in.
Each monthly winner will be rewarded with the kudos of the 'POTM Winner' status on their avatar, their entry will go into the POTM Gallery and automatically qualify for the POTY competition and perhaps with other as yet unspecified Retrobike goodies...! Get snapping!
