TiTron BearClaw Pedals

Hey all,

As some people may know, the famous Hutch BMX Bearclaw pedals where derived from the Titron Pedals. There is quite the history behind how exactly that happened... But at any rate, we (being my dad and I), have enough parts to make at least 15 sets of pedals. NOS cages, spiders, and spindles.

I made this thread just to see how many people where into the pedals and possibly if anyone would be interested in buying a pair.

a pair of NOS ones on ebay goes for around 800 bucks, give or take.

Mikee,

No CNC magic here...these are old school ACID etched Titanium cages. Definately not something you see everyday, let alone once in a blue moon!

They bring the cash as they were truly innovative at the time of creation...spurring on blatent copies by Suntour and others.

Want to ride a piece of equipment from the cycling garden of Eden, this is a rare opportunity to do so.

I don't wish to disrespect the engineering or workmanship[ that goes into a pair of pedals like this, but 800 bucks????

You have to ask why? What makes them worth that much? I mean, do they really do the job any better than a set worth a tenth of that?

Do they work any better...probably not.

Why do they cost soooo much...because they were the first ever pedal to use a round cage design, titanium cages, magnesium x-frames, and titanium spindles...all in one.

The design, while licensed to HUTCH, was stolen by Suntour and capatilized on in the mass market.

These pedals launched the bmx/mtb scene into considering new/lightweight materials.

Consider also there are only 15 pair left in NOS state.

Why do they cost soooo much...history mate, history.

Antiques almost - anything with HUTCH stamped on it gives it an instant money spinning aspect
