Barn find Redline MX-II

Hi guys, sorry for this is to be my first post on here. you must get these posts all the time, I'm a member on the Retro Collect forum (video games related) and it does get a little tiring reading the "how much is my pong clone worth" etc.. and the user is never seen again.

anyhow today I was lucky to get my hands on a Redline MX-II. I believe it dates from around 78-82?. It came from a local farm clearance and was put into a auction. I have been after an 90's chrome bmx for some time but I couldn't pass this one up.

I was wondering how much it would cost for it to be restored? and how much it is worth present state? and is it worth doing?. I don't mind doing a little work on it, but have no experience in this field.

I would say its in reasonable condition for its age (not even cleaned it yet) alittle rust on frame join (see photo) wheels look original... not sure if it's missing anything?

any info would be great on this, I looked up on ebay but i'm not sure if those prices are a realistic refection.

Cheers Thomas :)

Re:

Hey Thomas! Cool find. Serial number on the Bottom bracket could help. USA or Japanese made can differ.

Re:

ACS Z rims probably are original to the bike. Saddle not. What stem is it? Clean it gently. I use a brass brush on chrome and soapy water. Are the bars stamped? Brakes should have a date on the backs of them. Might be later?

Re:

I paid £325 on ebay for a 81 MX II in similar condition. Has red tuffs and is white. £3-400 I would say as is.
