90's Bully BMX - call for action, some help please!

Hi all,

I've been having hot water problems lately (I have to have cold showers when it rains, no idea why) so I decided to go hunt down the hot water system this morning to check it out. I ducked under the house and found this thing.

I bought it in the early 90's I think. I can't be sure. She's heavy at 13.06kg's and she's pretty rusty. V-brake rear set-up and the frame's got some nice oval tubing on the top tube.

Got rust?

I took her all apart straight away (couldn't help myself).

Here are some weights just for kicks:

Brakes front and rear + cables: 681g
Chain: 286g
Cranks + BB: 1775g
Fork: 1040g
Frame: 2820g
Grips: 93g
Handlebar: 951g
Headset: 139g
Pedals: 492g
Seat Binder: 61g
Seat: 451g
Seatpost: 317g
Stem: 511g
Tyres: 480g/tyre
Tubes: 120g/tube
Wheel front: 1100g
Wheel rear + cog: 1003g

I'd like to perhaps polish up some parts, but would also be keen to replace parts. The seatpost reads 25.4 and I think that's pretty common. I measured the stem with a ruler and it came to 20mm diameter, but after some searching on eBay it seems most old school BMX stems are 21.1? Maybe I measured wrong (I did just use a ruler).

Any direction, advice, help appreciated. I'd love to get the weight down and use her just for cruising down to the beach. No crazy tricks, stunts, or anything of the sort. Thanks in advance for any help!

Looks good! I believe most old BMX are thread 1 inch stem. If you are looking to get rid of some of the parts, I would be interested in the stem, crank, sprocket, and pedals. Shipped to the USA with paypal payment.

Thanks,

LMK :D

Dang didnt realize that this thread is 2 year old!! Probably wont get a response. LOL

as far as BMX`s go the Bully was pretty light weight anyway. but be careful these particular bikes brakoe ewasily. even in the box before delivery!!!!
