how do they compare to modern BMXs. i have very, very fond memories of mine, but i'm 41 and 6'2" so it's not for me, but for my boy. he may like the look of them, and even the idea of having an old bike, but are they actually any good?

what age are they suitable for. i was 13 or 14 when i got mine, but presumably they're suiltable for much smaller boys?

what price is reasonable for a decent, used but not knackereed one?

does anyone have one lurking they'd consider selling?

if i was off to buy a bmx for a kid or a teenager id get something early to mid ninties...they go for practically nothing on ebay whilst still sharing some of the style of 80s bmxs plus you get newer components.

Burners have got to the point where its cult status means that the price is over the top but thats just my opinion, i threw one out back in the 90s when i upgraded which says it all really.

I'll probably get lynched for having these opions on a retro forum though!

For riding around => older bmx.
For genuine bmx'ing => modern.
Buying one second hand is the best option either way, if you find one you like that is. :D
