never had a bmx before...

Old School Hero
Thought my son needed a bmx and started looking on ebay. The bidding went up a bit more than I wanted to pay, but suffice to say I won it and went to pick it up. The advert said 'working order' and it must have had a very special bottom bracket as it had all sorts of special movement I'd never normally expect from a bike.

2 hours with spanners and it all went back together and the old decal glue removed to leave shiny paintwork after a bit of brasso.

Any ideas what it is or whether it will be worth hanging onto? The old grips appear to have 'Ruption' on them and it feels utilitarian but well made.

850 was a bit more than I wanted to pay. I wouldn't have stretched to 9 quid.

(The SOLD OUT stickers came off an advertising board...)

“All sorts of special movement id never expect from a bike”

The only way a ruption would rise in value, is if the price of steel is on the rise and you weighed it in for scrap metal. They’re pretty heavy bikes so you’re pretty much garuanteed to make a profit on £8.50 ;)

Still a good bike for your son to mess around on with his friends, but I wouldn’t bother telling him to cherish it lol
