Hi,
I'm David and I have a Bottecchia Gara with Campagnolo groupset that I bought new in the late 80's. Recently repainted at Bob Jacksons. I also have a Ribble 653 that my b-in-law was about to skip. Similar vintage & also running Campy. Had that repainted at Ellis Briggs. My daily commuter is a recently purchased Paul Milnes CX bike. About 10 years old but had very little use before I bought it. Columbus aluminium Zonal tubing on that one.
And I just picked up a 1948 Claud Butler frame & forks set on eBay that I'm building up with bits from the back of the garage.
Thanks for having me,
David

I think it's a clubman. It's fillet brazed & has the continental dropouts. Rear spacing is 110mm & front is 100mm. Takes 26" wheels. No braze ons other than pump pegs! Frame number is 624809 stamped on u/s of bb. I haven't checked if the forks match yet.

Hello All,

My name is Herman, and I'm from the Netherlands.

After years of being away from the forum, the retro virus has gotten me again. It started with some vintage MTB's including my pride and joy a very nice Cannondale Beast of the East M800 from 91.

Now i'm more into the vintage road bikes, A Koga Superwinner from 1989. And a unknown to me Motobecane from I think late 70's early 80's.

Good Morning. I just tried to register, not realising I already had in 2012. Anyway I'm the owner of a restored Dawes Kingpin and a BSA Tour de France, both of which I ride if the weather is dry and sunny.

I signed up today because I was on Google and liked the name of the forum. I guess I'm more into retro bikes rather than vintage. Being younger (at 34) a lot of the older stuff before the 90s is before my time. I came here to get a few more ideas and to share some of my own bikes of course.

Retro bikes and throwbacks have always been my thing. I don't quite understand how people can spend so much money on new carbon bikes. If I had that kind of money I'd probably buy a titanium bike anyway.

I've ridden bikes since I was 5 years old on and off. I first became interested in cycling as a hobby in the mid 90s with I guess what you would call a Diamond Back flat bar gravel bike today riding around the local trails. In the last year I've been focusing on my fitness and building up my endurance so I can join a club next year and do some crit racing as well as a few longer sportive races.

I've been building a 10 speed alluminium bike in the mean time so I can be a bit more competitive on the road. Its a late 2000s Trek 1500 with Ultegra and Dura Ace components. It currently has a Dura Ace 7800 groupset with a set of 6770 DI2 derailleurs on it and 6600 crank arms. It also has a few Bontrager Race and XL components on it also. I'm deciding on a new seat, and probably seat post also at the moment.

I just thought I'd stop here for some inspiration.
