Just found this site, I used to do quite a bit of cycling but gave it up in the late eighties having done me knee in, however just getting back into it having put my old butchers bike back on the road. I am close to getting my mid eighties Saracen road bike back on the road and I am looking for parts to complete my 50s Higgins trike having lost a few vital bits over the non cycling years.

so hello all!!

Hi All.
Pleased to say i'm back on the road after going over to MTB'ing in the late 90's. Mainly beacuse the whole Festina affair and follow on ruined it all for me. Anyway recently cured by David Millars fantastic account of his own experience. I've folded up the baggy shorts for a while and am back on the road with a 1990 Raleigh Castorama Team Replica in 531 (curious about tis frame in another tread) and loving it. Also have an eighties Follis tandem for more sociable rides with the wife. Am sellind my 20 speed Kinesis to ride the raleigh full time as it's really quite spiritual at the moment :-)

Hi guys,

I'm relatively new here, aside from a stint of parts buying last summer that is. I got into riding bikes a couple of years ago after seeing some pics of the 2010 L'eroica - seeing some of those steel framed beauties in action made me hanker after one. I went through a couple of oddly-sized models before deciding to build up my own, and here it is:

Its a 1975 Woodrup Star Trophy with arabeque bits (and a nuovo record rd) and that picture is from L'eroica 2012. My dad and I drove down from the North East, taking about 23 hours non-stop. A long drive but a great 3 days that really cemented my interest in these wonderful old machines.
