Just introduced to the forum... sadly just in the process of selling my old Colnago, but now I've found a place where old parts seem plentiful I'm considering saving for another one.

long time lurker, been joined a while but never been beyond the sales forum!

been getting into steel framed roadies/racers for a while now, started out with a heavy raleigh that needed constant tweaking and repairs, now have a semi modern cro-mo dawes and currently slowly building up a 70's nervex lugged 531!

hello all.

Hi folks. Have lurked around the classifieds section a little, but having finally bought a retro frame for a project, I thought I should join up properly and say hello!

I have a Sid Mottram track frame which I'm trying to find out more information about. I'm also trying to find out information about the original owner/track rider. I'll leave that to my next post.

Anyhow, I'm Steve, and I'm mostly interested in steel track bikes :)

I discovered Retrobike whilst searching for replacement Exage cranks for my knackered ol' freecycle'd Carrera Epic Tony Doyle GT. And it's been downhill ever since.

Now the spare room is home to several mountain bike frames that I'll need to get back onto the road, a mid 90s Saracen Powertrax, a freecycle'd Falcon Banana that I might tweak into a winter road bike, and a freecycle'd mystery gas pipe road bike that probably isn't worth the effort to do any restoration on but....awwww it just needs some love.

Been on here for a few weeks now. Never actually introduced myself.

Mike from Sheffield joined up to find out more about my Raleigh Milk Race Special, and on how to refurbish it!

Pics will come when I have money to complete it!

My name is Graeme and I have just popped by to say hello!

I have built a few bike over the years but came by retrobike by a fluke really.

My story is I have just moved back to my hometown at the age of 40 and ran into an old colleague of mine. He says "oh remember that bike you gave me? I have it in my shed, want it back?"

So I jumped at the chance and am now the proud owner of my very first school bike, a Puch Sports 10 with 27" wheels, simplex rear derailleur and horizontal rear drop out!

The wheels are toast so I am looking for a new set of 27" ones, thinking of building it back up as a single speed though, would appreciate your views on that.

Bike is now stripped, just need a bottom cracked, new cotter pins etc, I am going to leave the paint original as it means so much to me, just maybe a bit of touchup, its authentic I;ll give you that!!!

Pics as soon as I can post them, thanks for making such a great resource!!!

Hi Dubnut, welcome
I'm to the north of you, a few miles from John O'Groats. We have one or two members in Inverness so check out the macretro section in the area groups somewhere midpage on the forum.
Join us on a ride sometime or if you fancy a road ride down your way let us know.
Cheers Jamie
