Chorus 8-speed shifter question

Yup 8 speed mechs will work fine on a 7 speed friction set up and yes Chorus did have downtube shifters and very nice they were too 
All I can find at the mo is the Synchro levers http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CAMPAGNOLO-SYNCRO ... 45f093a2f3
These were indexed to work with Campag, I'm not sure if there was the option to switch it over to friction.
