Hi,

I have a circa 1985 3T quill stem with 3T handlebars. The stem has one hidden bolt which tightens the clamp. I need to remove the handlebars from the stem, but as the removing the bolt does not free up the handlebars, do you have to slide them out of the stem along the length of the bar??

unfortunately, yes and a real pain in bum when you have levers, cables and tape all in situ and have to strip one side.
Long live front faceplate stems.
