Anyone know a good site for info. on later Falcon models? I've just rescued a bike badged as a Falcon Profesional, its a mix of parts mainly 86/87 Shimano but Campy mechs & shifters. Seems to have been carefully re-painted a sand colour, masked over the '4130 frame tubes' label, which shows a blue flamboyant underneath, also visible inside BB.
Has pointed lugs with cut-outs, seat post seems 26.6 but it had a 26.2 cheapie fitted ( no apparent damage to frame). Cable guides are all clamp on, as are the shifters. It has mudguard eyes & mech hanger.

I'd say the 26 mm seatpin and 4130 tube label point to it not actually being a professional, which I recall being 531 tubed and therefore using a 27.2 mm seatpin.
Falcons I believe were made in humberside and sponsored a pro team in the late 70's, poss early 80's. Frames were met blue with white panels and black lettering. Most of their frames were this colour to replicate the pro team bikes.

Hmmm, wonder where my Falcon fits in, pretty standard CroMo tubing, it's late 70's early 80's judging by the Shimamo 600 Arabesque shifters & mechs

Thanks for the info. lads, here's a pic. of mine (Sorry I didn't take a picture before dismantling it, but it was kind of offensive to look at):

On further investigation, the DIY spray job is white, just a paint that holds dirt! The steerer is the same colour as inside the BB. The 'Professional' stickers were cut down, it looks like the first word was removed. So maybe not even a Falcon at all? I'm just checking it out to make sure it's nothing particularly rare before I powder-coat it to fixie hell!

That looks very similar to mine, barring the bottle cage mount & the triangular cut outs in the headset lugs & fork crown.

I'd guess it is a Falcon of a similar age to mine, probably early 80's, unless anyone else knows for sure what it is.
