I want to take my 1978 Nishiki to Italy as I am often there. The original 5 speed freewheel (on a Shimano hub) has something like 13-17 gearing which won't bring me far in the Marche mountains (like Toscane). What are my option in getting a new set of gears?

14-28 is quite a common 5 speed freewheel size, or something like this would do nicely..

Wow, thanks! I didn't check ebay yet, as I didn't think it would have so much, but what was I wrong. And you are right, I actually should change my chainset as well, having now 53-46. I am not sure about the max tooth capacity the suntour derailler can have though...
