I could just do with a find like that right now - minus the frame!
Does your local tip keep bikes and other items aside for people to take?
My local one used to but since they became a 'household waste centre' they just skip everything immediately so if I did try any salvaging it could only be what is near enough the top of the skip to reach. I'm even sure if they would like me doing that.

most sensible sites have resale areas. A lot of stuff goes to the staff first though.

it was a cassette but no worries now as its going to a new owner on Sunday
