Yeah, looked brutal. Apparently going to grenoble for a MRI scan. Fingers crossed all is well - seems like a genuinely good guy and awesome rider too 8)

This is good news. I could see no reason for it on the brief showing on ITV4. In my gloom and general despondency I fear he had suffered some sort of medical crisis on the bike and fallen because of it. In the very unlikely csae of Jens being a fan of retro and reading this...Recover soon.

it looked like he'd hit an unforseen bump which knocked the bars from his hands, resulting in a crash.
I once had this happen to me in a road race too, albeit not at Alpine speeds. Fortunately my wrist somehow landed on the bar tops and I recovered it, but frightening all the same.
