Appologies for hijacking the thread for a mo, but bikemeister2000, do you have any more pics from the catalogue? -I would love to see a pic of a Record Ace. And what was the Carlton racing (no mudguards) model called, with the 'oyster' paint and brown suede saddle.. I used to DROOL over that as a nipper.

I have the fluted seatpost and original saddle - too short tho...

I also have the esge muguards - the stays are bent tho...

Nah. It was in the '82 or '83 catalogue. A lovely off white colour called 'Oyster', with brown h.bar tape and brown suede saddle, Campag Gran sport mechs, SR c.set with drilled chainring and weinmann 605s (I think). Basically the same spec as the Record Ace but with a close ratio block and no mudguards.
