You missed the 'one foot twisted to a strange angle' approach too.

Sean had some skeletal problems caused by cycling and his increasingly extreme position over the years was an attempt to counteract it but ended up making it worse.

What a healthy past time cycling is! It says rather a lot about Yates that he managed to be national time trial champion after he retired.
