I have been thinking of getting myself a retro road bike and tbh it will only be the 2nd road bike I have ever owned. My first was bought 2nd hand in the early 80's by my dad for me and he did it up. I had a bmx and it was going to be my 'next' bike.
Turned out I got into riding offroad (partly due to bmx and the the rest from cylcocross on grandstand!). I tried the bike a few times, even adding some shorty mudguards for my towpath trips lol.
However I feel in love with a Raleigh Maverick one day and ended up selling the bike and getting the Mav. The rest is history BUT I still remember that racer and now I have this burning temptation to get myself another.
The bike in question was red with 5 speed and was called an Elswick Whirlwind.
Anyone got an Elswick on here?
