Cinelli Super Corsa - late Eighties

Ed and I scored some bargainous souvenir old world roadie gear on our recent trip to Holland - here's mine...

Appears to be a Cinelli - pale pink with a fully chromed frame underneath.

Any thoughts on vintage and model appreciated!

Oooh lovely - did you bring any presents home for me! ;)

And what beauties did Mr E. come back with :?: :!:

They used to chrome plate the whole frame, even if only the lugs and dropouts were going to be the chrome bits- with paint over the rest because it was easier to just dip the whole frame and paint over the parts you want painted. Also, they often only polished the lugs and dropouts before plating, so if you strip the paint off, the tubes will be quite dull looking in comparison.

The Cinelli is gorgeous and makes a pleasant change from the 'me too' Colnagos (says a proud Colnago owner). I reckon dbmtb has nailed it too with model, components and year.

The colour is really unusual, almost mother of pearl in places and seems to vary between pink and almost beige (but not hearing aid beige). Doubt you'll see many the same in the UK.

See here http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61333 for details, less flashy than some of my recent bikes but no worse for it.
