Love it. getting in to tandems. As long as I'm on the front

OOhh Lovely - just like the one I used to ride - but we had a 64 chainring in the end! With a 12, 11's not invented then.

Here's a pic of ours taken in the '86 (I think) Tandem 25 Champs.

The frame design is very similar to yours but we had a straight through drive rather than a crossover. Needed thin spacing washers behind the chainring fixing bolts to stop the 2 chains from rubbing though.

I know where this still is, hanging in someone's garage not being used. I admit I feel very tempted to make an offer and have a go again! I used to love TT'ing on it and scored my last win in April '88 on it.

I seem to remember that the local shop owners when I was in Devon (Barrettos') were pretty demon on a tandem. They turned up to races sometimes with a very expensive bike on a specially made roof rack.

Was it Chris Baretto that ran the shop? He was a very good rider in his youth.

I also see that you have tri-bars fitted Mooster. How do you get on with them on a tandem? I'm still a bit wary of them on a solo.
