Not necessarily retro but road nonetheless, does anyone know what font ITM used on their Millennium stems ?

If you can find a good image of the typeface, give it a try at:

http://new.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/

It looks to me like a Helvetica based typeface at extra bold italic, but you'd have to compare it to a few- check the 'e' especially- you usually find most of the immediate differences there.
