Having ridden my last 2 events on my Dave Russell 'Old Skool' bike I have now converted my '99 ish Giant TCR into a TT bike using a set of Cinelli Angel Tri-Bars obtained from a jumble with a pair of 8 speed bar end levers from the same source. I still need to sort the length of gear cables etc. but I'm waiting until I get my final position sorted.
I'll probably look around for some 'faster' wheels once I've got into my stride!
I haven't ridden it in anger yet as I'm still not 100% confident in riding on the tri-bars, especially if it's a bit windy, but hope to on the 14th in an 18K event at Blyth.
Tri-bars are supposed to be worth a fair amount of time - but does that only work if you're fit to start with?!
