1" Ahead to threaded conversion

Can this be done or is a new fork required? The ahead stem is cramping my style and I have a new Cinelli quill to use.

Anybody want to swap a Colnago 1" Force carbon fork I have for a chrome Precisa?

:)

title says ahead to threadless conversion. do you mean ahead to threaded?

If so, its relatively easy, but you will need to visit a frame builder. Basically, steerer gets cut to correct size and then threaded down as far as required. Cost £10-£15ish I reckon.

fork

Yes, silly me - I've edited it. Anyway, the fork I have is a full carbon job so that would be impossible.

Fork conversion

Hey fatfixie, the headtube is 160mm.

Cheers. :)

Forks too short :-(

I do have a new pair of Gloss black precisa forks in ahead- but kind of defeats the purpose. Althought i guess they could be threaded......

Another blow, Maestro tell me that Colnago no longer do a threaded Precisa.

Our way of life is under threat!
