That could be worth some good money as the 41 tooth Campy rings are hard to come by. I sold a NR 41 tooth ring for about $40 a couple of years ago.

Hi there, I'm thinking about selling my Orbit America Sport and would appreciate some opinions on value. As far as I know it's fairly original and other than a few minor marks on the paintwork is in great condition. Replaced the slightly damaged brake levers yesterday with Shimano Exage (that was what was on it before but they look a lot newer)

I wonder if you can help me. A chap I know is selling a Gios Compact and is unsure of its value. He is internet illiterate so I said I'd help! Its a Gios Compact 40th anniversary frame, with a Record Titanium 9 speed groupset right through, ambrosio rims with record hubs, record titanium ergoshifters, cinelli bars and quill stem. It has bright pink paintwork!!, giro d'italia special edition so I've heard. The bike is in very good order throughout, odd paint scratches but nothing major. The frame is straight. I wouldn't want him to get ripped off and saw your site and your bikes and thought you may be able to tell us what it may be worth. I think its mid-nineties.

You pal has something rather nice there.

Gios are well regarded and 9v Record Titanium is one of the most desirable groups.

Generally speaking, you'll get more splitting a bike and selling the components separately, but I think this is an exception to that rule.

Contact Gios: if this is a special edition then I wouldn't be surprised to see it fetch £1,000 or more: the group alone is an easy £500 on a bad day.

Some pictures would be nice!

Hi Scilly, thanks for the quick reply. I've taken a few pictures. It needs a bloody good clean! Bar-tape is knackered and could do with some new tyres but aside from that can't really see much else wrong.

stumack, not sure what your bike is worth specifically cause its not a brand we have here in the US but i seems any decent working road bike should fetch 100 pounds or so. The up side is the 531 frame and fork the down side is the mid range kit.

If your Gios has the Deda Zero Tre steel tubes then it looks like you have stumbled accross something quite special. The Titanium groupset is also quite a catch. A similar frame was up for sale on here a while ago for a very decent price of £200 viewtopic.php?f=22&t=193371 A clean Titanium Groupset can be worth upwards of £450 so you can do the maths.

I spy an Oria decal: what does it say? Those bolt on derailleur hangers are usually found on aluminium frames.

Assuming the bike is as it left Gios, then it would be a top end model: you don't hang diamonds on a monkey...

Definitely worth an e-mail to Gios (if you flip the bike over there should be a serial number on the bottom bracket shell): the business is still in the family and their is a register of vintage Gios on their website, so I think they'd be quite helpful.
