Hey guys,

I'm thinking of selling off the groupset from my old road bike. I think it's Dura-ace 7100 (or maybe 1st generation dura ace) but I have:

double crankset
5 speed freewheel
front derailleur
rear derailleur
front and rear hubs laced to Mavic Module Es

Any idea how much this is worth?

Really need to know the genre, it should be stamped on something somewhere. Without pics we'd have to just ballpark which I'd say £80 - £140'ish. Pics for a more accurate idea....

I looked it up on Velobase - I think it's 7100 because the rear derrailer is stamped "dura ace" and not "crane" but the crankset from both look pretty similar.

I have a soft spot for first generation Shimano stuff because I remember when it first came out and I sold it :)

Cranks look like first gen with the undrilled rings as does the rear mech, the very first rear mech was badged as a crane IIRC.
The front mech should have 4 rectangular holes...

Prices are all over the place and depend on how mint they are, for example I have paid £60 for a set of first gen brake callipers in nice condition and £16 for some shagged one's

The bidding war will be on the chainset if it's in good nick :)

Shaun

I have this on my Olagnero

I paid about 50 for the cranks, 40 for the mechs, 8 for a FW, wheels probably 80 quid?

This can make crazy money; 75 maybe, I saw one sell for 180 with a box!

Any help would be appreciated

This spec is good for 200 to the right buyer, maybe advertise as a winter training bike?

If you went looking for something that sweet I'd expect to pay over 500 unless I were really lucky, sort of this you may grab badly listed on ebay with a blurry photo for 300 and then be dead chuffed when it arrived; but insurance is based on what you would pay to replace it, so go on ebay and do a 'completed listings' search of the individual components and then add at least 200 for the frameset...
