Elev12k (http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=217946&highlight=) suggested to post my MTB frame also in this section.

The frame was done following the request of a guy who wanted a hybrid between road tubes, and MTB... but at the end he decided to not buy it. I would like to know from an expert the possible value of it!

I would like to sell it (if the value is good) to re-build another Grandis (road frame from the 1984) that I have in Italy.

Any idea about the value of my bike. It is completely LX Deore, without any problems. Rims Mavic. Grandis frame with columbus tubes.

Currently about to buy a Campagnolo Electa saddle. I've done a little research but they go anywhere between £100-£500???? What's it worth?

Carlton Corsair racer (1970s I believe) Brown and gold, good mechanical nick (Raleigh and Weinmann drivetrain and brakes/shifters, assumed to be original), new tyres. Brown leather / suedy saddle. Paint in good nick too, bottom inch or so of front mudguard snapped off but I still have it and it could be glued back on. Needs a couple of mudguard eyelets to fix mudguards properly but is a good ride as it is. No idea how much it is worth as other adverts I have trawled up don't seem to include a price. Not sure of frame size but fine for around 5'10" to 6' I would think.

Lovely bike just not being ridden anymore due to other bikes filling my needs better.

Cheers

Hi there,

I posted this elsewhere (in the wrong place) earlier today.

I acquired this bike over the weekend from a second hand bike shop in London. I know very little about vintage bikes but loved the look of this one.

Here's the blurb:

"Raleigh Record Ace. Painted by Mercian. New Schwalbe tyres and tubes. New bar tape, all new cables, new Campy cranks. Campy Record hubs on some date appropriate Mavic rims."

I paid £350 for it, and my mate (who does know a bit about bikes) reckons I got proper done and probably paid double what I should have.

Any thoughts? Ta! Nate
